Proposal for The Hit

Plot (Storyline) 

The story of our short ultra movie is a person who has now started to seek revenge on behalf of his sister as she has been shamed on social media which lead her to commuting   suicide. We start the film with Riz looking for his sister in the house, then we see a note on his sisters bed. We hear her voice reading the note then it will go to scene where see Riz getting ready to go into the house of the person who bullied his sister. We know that he is unexpected when the victim does not know why he is being attacked then all is revealed in good time after they have a conversation we see at the end the person has a knife on his hand ready. 

What is the Genre 

The genre we want to create is crime and thriller because we believe that the story line involves crime as we see the antagonist breaking in to the house, picking the front door locks. We also see Thriller element in our short ultra movie because we see crime being involved as the antagonist wants to kill the person who has lead to his sister dying. We see a element of action as well when the antagonist punches the victim.

Who are your characters

 The first character we have chosen is called Riz, Riz is an young energetic person who is only 18 years old and is very clever achieving 6 A in all is gcse but now wants to risk his future for the love of his sister, he wants to attack the person who cyber bullied his sister. 

The victim is a young 16 year old who is called Ray, he has many regrets in life one would be the fact that he bullied people online, he has been known to the police with his background. He thought everything would have been over after all the court cases but no he has now have to deal with the brother of the sister he bullied.

What is your setting?

The setting is the gritty East London where Reggie Krays from, many dangerous things happen in these areas, Riz and Ray are from Ilford and they both live with the parents. It will be located around the Goodmayes area We have set it in this modern era because we want to relate to the young audience and send a positive message.

How will your film incorporate all the section A techniques

We will use continuity editing technique when antagonist approaches slowly to the house, this is when we can edit to the picking the lock. We also will use montage editing when Ray gets punched on the face then he has a concussion, this is where we get images of his childhood. 180 degree rule and shot reverse shot will be at the end of the movie when both of the characters sit opposite to each other in the bedroom and Ray is tied up on the chair. We will also use a cut transition when Riz breaks through the door of the house then runs up the stairs and then will cut to him being at the bedroom door.  

How will your film incorporate all the section B techniques

We will use a jump cut sequence because at the beginning of the scene we will see the antagonist getting ready to attack by putting on the gloves, hoodie and balaclava, this will have five shots. We will also use point of view shot when RIz punches Ray as it shows it in a lot more detail. Motivated cut will be used when Riz pick locks the door then will have a motivated cut where the camera is inside then shows him entering the house.  At the end of the short film we will have the scene where the antagonist shows the knife and then the shot goes blank it cuts to the soundtrack.
